Are you get angry about the rising premiums of your so called cheap car insurance? If you are then you are definitely not on your own and in fact may be about to get even more angry if you did not see any cheap car insurance related news yesterday because…
One of the leading car insurance providers in the UK announced that their profits were up by a staggering 56% in the first quarter of 2011. Yes, despite saying that premiums had been put up and are now stretching the average family budget to breaking point because they were losing money, car insurance companies are in fact stretching the truth themselves to put it mildly.
What can you do? W

A recent survey of 20 councils in the UK revealed some worrying news for those looking to try everything they can to keep a hold of their cheap car insurance. Budget cuts have found that the vast majority of potholes left over from the bad weather last winter have literally been patched up. Short term measures have been taken to fill the hole but the cracks are already beginning to show… literally.
So why does this affect you? Well, if long term measures were put in place then cars would not run the risk of having a pothole breaking up under their tyres and thus causing damage to them. I

It was revealed a few months ago that there were issues with cheap car insurance. Although drivers believed that they had taken out legitimate policies and had the paperwork to prove it, many were being pulled over by the police and given tickets for not having any form of insurance in place. In some instances, this led to them having their cars seized and having to pay to have them released, although some police forces recognised that there was a deeper issue – some insurers were not updating details quick enough.
Although this has supposedly improved in recent months and insurers have picked up the pace somewhat, there are still a few issues in this particular area.

It is a well known fact that there are certain areas in the world that cheap car insurance providers simply will not touch with a barge pole. For example, native insurers in France will not insure any vehicle as soon as it sets wheel on the island around the Arc de Triomphe on the Champs Elysees in Paris. There are no applicable rules on that island so you literally take your chances with the traffic, but what does this mean for you when you are there?
Now is the time to start thinking about where you want to travel this spring and summer and these elements need to be taken into consideration if you plan on driving your own car.

Comparing cheap car insurance policies is undoubtedly something that everyone should absolutely be doing when renewal time rolls around and this is more important now than ever. In fact, it is something that you simply cannot afford not to do. Why? Because a car insurance index from a well respected breakdown and insurance company has revealed that car insurance premiums are still rising and have yet to show any signs of slowing down.
If cheap car insurance premiums are disapearing, though, because premiums are rising overall, what can you do about it? Well, not resign yourself to paying more for a start.

There is finally some good news on the horizon for those people who love their cheap car insurance and yet either stand to lose it or have suffered with it at the hands of uninsured drivers in the past. The government is finally taking a much tougher stance on it that will hopefully discourage those people that are tempted to put others at risk when they start the engine on their uninsured car. Not only has this already been announced but the measures are set to come into force in spring thanks to the action by the Department of Transport.
Although 400 uninsured drivers are caught by police everyday, many ultimately get away with it because they never get pulled over.

When you think of the term “hotspot”, you most likely think of holiday hotspots and other such positive things. However, when the term is used in conjunction with cheap car insurance it is time to be worried because it is usually on about where people have the most accidents and how much car insurance will go up as a result. The latter applies here because a study found that certain cities have far poorer motoring behaviour than others. Apparently, Swansea drivers really leave the respect at home.
According to the research, Swansea drivers are not courteous and do not obey the rules of the road as they should. For

I don’t know about you but I have noticed that there are an awful lot of insurance companies offering discounts for those people with cheap car insurance to take up home insurance with the same provider, or vice versa. Whereas cross promotion never used to be a factor of their marketing campaigns because products were kept separate, it is viewed as a way to secure customer loyalty today. Many people have taken advantage of those discounts, but should you?
The answer is no, or at least not before comparing the other quotes that are out there for you. The discounts may be enticing but that is not to say that you cannot find better premiums out there. Yo
