Written by Kristin Wright on January 22, 2011.

According to the article “Florida Lawmakers Seek to Reduce Costly Court Battles Over Auto Insurance” by Sally Kestin on OrlandoSentinel.com, Florida auto insurance lawsuits are out of control and need to be reined in.  Florida auto insurance quotes are increasing and insurance regulators agree that pricey court battles are partly to blame.

Rep. Bryan Nelson believes something must be done soon.  He says it’s critical they take a hard look at ways Florida can reduce costs over time.  There is currently a proposal under consideration in Tallahassee which would limit the fees lawyers can collect when they win a personal injury protection suit.  Fees ca

Written by Rachel Murphy on January 20, 2011.

Campaigns against texting while driving have been surfacing for a few years because of the supposed link between it and a surge in car accidents. However, an expert believes this focus is misdirected and should be placed on other areas of importance. While many admit that there are a lot of reasons that individuals find themselves in dangerous car accidents, texting while driving should remain a top legislative priority.

Written by Rachel Murphy on January 20, 2011.

The cost of auto insurance in the United States was 0.9 percent higher in November than it was in October, according to new data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This data represents a drastic increase in coverage over just a one-month period and shows that the price to insure is still on the rise.

End-of-Year Increases Could Continue Into 2011

According to the CPI report, October and November saw the biggest increases in premium costs–1.1 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively–resulting in consumers paying roughly $8-$9 more each month for coverage.

The numbers from the BLS’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), in conjunction with data compiled from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, were even more telling of the increases we’ve seen in coverage in 2010, as detailed in the press release.

Frustration over Potholes

It appears that car insurers are joing the fight to reduce the frustrations caused by potholes across South Africa!

Potholes are not only a safety hazard, but they also pose danger to the wheel alignment and suspension of your car that’s if the short- term danger of a flat tyre doesn’t get you first.

Home Insurance & Flooding

Written by Justin Morris on January 15, 2011.

I don’t know about you but watching the news has been difficult for me over the past couple of weeks as a result of the floods that have occurred in Queensland, Australia and Brazil as well as those in Sri Lanka that seem to have been less reported on. It seems that the whole world’s weather has gone a little crazy of late. This is exactly why you should have measures in place to protect you, such as home insurance.

Although the flooding here has been nothing compared to that elsewhere in the world, some flooding has occurred with the heavy rains this weekend. Unfortunately, some people will have to face the consequences with no home insurance. If

Cheap Car Insurance & Tacling Uninsured Drivers

Written by Justin Morris on January 10, 2011.

There is finally some good news on the horizon for those people who love their cheap car insurance and yet either stand to lose it or have suffered with it at the hands of uninsured drivers in the past. The government is finally taking a much tougher stance on it that will hopefully discourage those people that are tempted to put others at risk when they start the engine on their uninsured car. Not only has this already been announced but the measures are set to come into force in spring thanks to the action by the Department of Transport.

Although 400 uninsured drivers are caught by police everyday, many ultimately get away with it because they never get pulled over.
